GKV Survey Confirms Satisfied Hearing Aid Users
According to a recent study, 90 percent of hearing aid users are satisfied with their hearing aids! Many opt for innovative additional features.
Regardless of whether the hearing aids are provided free of charge or require a private copayment, nine out of ten hearing aid users in Germany are “very satisfied” or “satisfied” with their individual hearing aid fitting. This is the finding of a nationwide survey of people with statutory health insurance (GKV).
Innovative Additional Features Thanks to Bluetooth Connectivity
Another finding from this large-scale study is particularly noteworthy: Although all survey participants were thoroughly informed about high-quality, freehearing aid coverage, more than 60 percent opted to pay a private copayment. They cited greater comfort, improved aesthetics, or convenience as their reasons.
No wonder, since modern hearing aids offer a range of additional features that make everyday life easier for their users and improve their quality of life. For example, these modern, high-tech devices for audio transmission can be connected directly to a TV, tablet, or phone. The TV volume can be adjusted individually, and a headset is no longer needed for hands-free phone calls—you simply speak through your hearing aid. Thanks to noise cancellation, ambient noise is also significantly reduced, making it easier to navigate noisy environments, such as train stations. So-called directional hearing, which allows the hearing aid to focus on a specific person, helps you follow conversation partners more easily—for example, when dining as a couple at a restaurant.
Hearing Aids with No Out-of-Pocket Costs for Everyone
“Every insured person receives a personalized treatment plan from their local hearing care professional. Insured individuals can rest assured that they will also receive an option that is free of charge for them,” says Marianne Frickel, President of the Federal Guild of Hearing Care Professionals (BIHA). Even hearing aids covered by insurance offer wearers modern technology that compensates for hearing loss as effectively as possible. The variety of hearing aids available is now enormous. Hearing aid specialists in your area will help you select and customize the hearing aid that’s best suited for you.
