Due to the pandemic, the past few months have been marked everywhere by the motto “We’re staying home.” But we’re slowly able to get out and about again. That’s why travel is at the very top of most people’s wish lists. Germany, in particular, has a lot to offer and is—unsurprisingly—a particularly popular travel destination. With us, you can embark on a very special musical journey through Germany even before your vacation begins.
Every place has its own special sound
It’s not uncommon for us to associate certain sounds with very special experiences: The splashing of a fountain, the chimes of a church, the sound of the ocean, or the hustle and bustle of a market square—we associate these sounds with the places where we first heard them.
To showcase all there is to discover acoustically in Germany, we’ve created a sound travel guide at www.so-klingt-deutschland.de. It brings the acoustic diversity of the most beautiful places to life for you and also offers many interesting travel tips for your desired vacation destination. Whether it’s Dresden, Berlin, Villingen, or Weisenbach in Baden-Württemberg, every single place is characterized by its own unique sounds.
What is the goal of the campaign?
With the “www.so-klingt-Deutschland.de” campaign, the BVHI aims to leverage Germany’s rich soundscape to introduce people to travel and vacation destinations in Germany while also promoting better hearing health. In collaboration with hearing care professionals, the BVHI is raising awareness through this initiative about the importance of timely hearing care.

The Foundation for a Rich Auditory Experience
However, only those with good hearing can truly hear and experience the sounds of their vacation destination. Can you still clearly perceive the sounds of your vacation spot? Put your hearing to the test—simply take our online hearing test. If you find that your hearing is impaired, visit a hearing care professional near you. They’ll conduct a comprehensive hearing test with you and will be happy to advise you so that nothing stands in the way of your next auditory journey.
