The new Auracast Bluetooth technology will offer many benefits for people with hearing loss in the future. Once this new technology is integrated into public spaces such as soccer stadiums in a few years, hearing aid users will be able to receive all announcements directly through their hearing aids or cochlear implants. The hearing aids will need to be compatible with the new Bluetooth technology. At major events, users will be able to log into the organizer’s digital audio stream using their headphones or hearing aids. This will allow them to automatically hear all the latest stadium information directly on their device in digital stereo quality. “Because the required streamers are easy to install, Auracast is also suitable for temporary use, such as at concerts or sporting events. Auracast will take the inclusion of people living with hearing loss to a whole new level,” adds Dr. Zimmer.
