What new hearing implants from MED-EL are available?

The SYNCHRONY-CI offers superior hearing performance and outstanding reliability.

The SYNCHRONY Cochlear Implant System with the RONDO 3 and SONNET 3 audio processors

The SYNCHRONY cochlear implant system is suitable for people with severe to profound inner-ear hearing loss. In this type of hearing loss, the hair cells in the inner ear are damaged and cannot properly process and transmit sound information. A cochlear implant bypasses the damaged hair cells and sends sound information in the form of electrical impulses to the auditory nerve and the brain, where it is perceived as sound.

A cochlear implant (CI) system consists of two main components: the audio processor and the implant. The audio processor is worn externally. It picks up sound information and sends it to the implant. The implant is located behind the ear under the skin and further processes the information.

Key benefits:

  • SONNET 3 Audio Processor: Integrated, direct streaming • Flexible ear hook • Waterproof and durable
  • RONDO 3 Audio Processor: Wireless rechargeable battery • The perfect partner for any hearing aid
